Mental Health First Aid Trainings

Empower your community with tools to recognize and respond to mental health needs.

Chicago Healing Connection now offers Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) trainings—an evidence-based public education program that teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental distress and substance misuse/abuse. Whether you're a church leader, teacher, caregiver, business owner, or simply someone who wants to help, this training equips you with the skills to support others in a moment of need.

Led by Bori Kim, LPC, a trauma-specialist and licensed therapist, our MHFA trainings are infused with compassion, cultural sensitivity, and deep expertise in trauma-informed care.

"Owning our stories and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we will ever do." – Brené Brown

Hi, I’m Bori—a therapist, trauma specialist, and someone deeply committed to walking with people through healing.

I bring experience working with individuals impacted by childhood trauma, sexual trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. As a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer, I’m passionate about equipping people with the tools to respond with empathy and confidence when someone is struggling. This training is about reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and building safer, more connected communities.

MHFA is a powerful step in becoming a source of hope for someone in crisis—and I’d love to bring this training to your team, organization, or community group.

Training available in English and Korean.
