Elaine Russo, LPC

Life is so often lived in the “in-between”.

Between the past we thought we had left behind and the future we want that seems so close, yet at the same time, so far away. Between the person we want to be and the things we do not want to do yet still see ourselves doing. Between hope and despair. All the while, we attempt to untangle the mess of emotions, which, the more we try, seems to get even more tangled. And when that mess is shared between two people trying to love each other well, it can feel even harder to find our way back to each other.

I get it. Life is messy, and relationships are messy too.

As a fellow sojourner, I am committed to walking alongside you, individually or as a couple, to help lead you to your breakthrough and regain agency over your mind, your emotions, and your relationships through trauma-informed, attachment-reframing healing. There is no one-size-fits-all counseling modality; my approach is to tailor it to you and your circumstances.

I specialize in trauma and crisis counseling, helping those navigating transitional stress, depression and anxiety, spiritual abuse, and other traumatic experiences find stability, safety, and a path forward. I also specialize in perinatal mental health support, including crisis pregnancy options counseling and post-abortion recovery and healing.

Alongside my individual trauma work, I am passionate about couples counseling, helping partners move out of disconnection and conflict and back into secure, resilient connection. Whether you're working through a breach of trust, communication breakdowns, or the slow drift that happens when life gets hard, I bring a trauma-informed lens to couples work, understanding that our earliest attachments shape how we love, fight, and repair as adults. I am deeply passionate about helping individuals and couples reconnect with their true identities and experience transformation from the inside out, both together and individually.

I have my master's in counseling and am currently completing a doctorate in counseling and psychology. Beyond academics, the person I bring into each counseling encounter has herself experienced transformation and hope in the midst of despair, and desires to see others, and their relationships, experience the same. I am a Christian therapist; however, I fully respect whatever your faith tradition is, whether you have one, and will adapt my therapeutic work to where you are.

Therapy services are available in English and Mandarin.
