Owning our stories and loving ourselves

through that process is the bravest thing

we will ever do.

–Brene Brown

I’m Bori, a trauma-specialist and therapist. I am also a doctoral student pursuing Trauma & Crisis Counseling at Regent University.

I deeply appreciate your presence here. I am glad that you have chosen to walk into your healing journey. You are taking an audacious step towards becoming who you are. Healing may sound scary, and it is sometimes messy. This journey may have unfamiliar paths ahead of you, but I am here to walk alongside you.

I have experiences helping both men and women (late 20s-40s), who struggle with childhood trauma or adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), sexual trauma, other PTSD, anxiety, and depression, with or without ADHD tendencies. I support each person to see himself or herself fully, guiding towards wholeness. Based on the humanistic approaches, Person-Centered and Gestalt Therapies, I integrate Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) into my practice, a framework by Dr. Dan Siegel on how relationships shape who we are. I utilize expressive therapies, such as color sketches (or paintings), letter-writings, song-writing, poetry and music. I have used these creative mediums to offer clients a breathing room in their mind. As research and studies have suggested, creative art and music can bring healing in brain.

I have also been working with nurses, teachers, lawyers, pastoral leaders, and other caregivers with high-stress jobs. I have helped them balance their lives between fully being a self and professional self. Most of us have neglected resting or slowness. For some, resting is just crying. For others, resting could be tending your soul. We will be sitting in this resting together as a part of your healing journey. Your tears are welcome in this place. Your past matters in this space. I am here to hold this space for you.

I offer sessions in English and Korean. For Christian clients, I provide faith-based, Biblical counseling when requested. I also offer faith-based coaching through trauma-informed lens across the world. If you are interested, we can have a free, 20-minute consulting call.
