Owning our stories and loving ourselves

through that process is the bravest thing

we will ever do.

–Brene Brown

I’m Bori, a therapist and a trauma-specialist. Let me first say this: thank you very much for being who you are. I do appreciate that you are prioritizing yourself in this healing journey. I appreciate that you have

made this audacious, brave decision to seek counseling. No matter where you are or which season you are in, your story matters. Your struggle matters. Your being matters. Your inner child matters.

I have experience helping those, both men and women, who struggle with childhood trauma or adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), sexual trauma, other PTSD (such as brain injuries), pornography, anxiety, and depression, with or without ADHD symptoms. I support each individual to see himself or herself fully, guiding towards wholeness. I also do premarital counseling to guide individuals or engaged couples to create better, safer home for themselves. Based on the humanistic approaches, Person-Centered and Gestalt Therapies, I integrate Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB) into my practice, a framework by Dr. Dan Siegel on how relationships shape who we are. I utilize express therapies, such as sketch, color, letter-writings, and poetry to meet each client’s needs.

I am here to help you love yourself as you are walking on your healing journey. Healing might not be easy at the moment, but I will be walking alongside you.  I will do my best to support you and hold a space for you to do whatever you need or want. Your tears are welcome. All your feelings are welcome.

Please, remember that as David Weaver says, broken crayons still color. There is beauty in brokenness. I am looking forward to partnering with you.

Therapy services are available in both English and Korean.
