Chenise Payton, Therapist Intern

I believe therapy is a transformative experience that can profoundly impact the lives of those who are willing to engage in the process. It provides an opportunity to explore oneself, develop acceptance and compassion, reduce pain and suffering, achieve personal goals, and promote overall wellness. People come to therapy for many different reasons, and as such, there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach. I am dedicated to working with adults and couples to create a supportive environment where exploration, healing, and growth can take place.

I use a blend of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Family Systems Theory (FST), and the Gottman Method, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of my clients. These approaches help individuals and couples improve their thought patterns, set meaningful goals, strengthen relationships, and address family or cultural dynamics. Through this work, I support my clients in building deeper self-awareness, emotional resilience, and healthier connections with others.

Specializing in work with adults and couples, I assist individuals navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, childhood trauma, unhealthy relationships, divorce, premarital counseling, parenting challenges, and life transitions. For couples, I provide tools to foster intimacy, manage conflict effectively, and create shared visions for the future.

As a therapist, I prioritize creating a safe, empathetic, and compassionate space that encourages authentic connection and relaxation. My goal is to support you in understanding the impact of your past on your present and guiding you toward the clarity and fulfillment you deserve.

I look forward to partnering with you on your journey to healing, growth, and empowerment.

“Clarify your purpose. What is the why behind everything you do? When we know this in life or design, it is very empowering, and the path is clear.”
