“You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but you are not the rain.”-Matt Haig

In a world where mental health has gained more attention yet still is so misunderstood, it can be hard to embark on this journey. The perpetuation of stigma related to mental health and wellness can deter one from seeking out the support they need to prioritize themselves and their healing journey. Thank you for taking the brave step to start this incredible journey. I am so glad you are here.

My name is Hiteshree (Shree) Patel and I am a licensed social worker. I have received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Masters of Social Work from the University of IL at Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, I have received my Doctor of Social Work degree from Capella. My experience in social work is with individuals of all ages and backgrounds as they navigate the challenges of depression, anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, life changes/transitions, relationship difficulties, work/life balance, and more. I particularly enlist cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and narrative therapy utilizing a systems and ecological based and strengths-based approach. I specialize in working with individuals with diagnosed mental health disorders such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I am committed to my continuing education and training to be able to provide support to anyone that walks through my door. I also believe I have a social responsibility to destigmatize mental health, especially in communities where it is heavily misunderstood, as well as continue to build cultural competency to work with diverse communities. I am passionate about building an equitable environment for underprivileged and vulnerable populations in the realm of mental health. I am also passionate about helping others manage the daily struggles of life and create a peaceful balance between self, relationships, work, etc.

I am thrilled to accompany my clients on their journey toward healing. While this journey can be difficult and frustrating, it provides infinite rewards and hopes for a brighter future. It is one that I am more than happy to support my clients through.

Therapy is available in English, Gujarati, and Hindi.
